Today’s the day.In bookstores everywhere, copies of The Essential Batman Encyclopedia will be on sale.I’ve been awaiting this so I can hear some feedback beyond the praise from family who are obligated to say nice things after watching me spend over a year on the project.Yesterday, Jen Contino posted an interview we did over at The Pulse. I’ve done some others which are likely to pop up in the not too distant future including the next issue of Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery MagazineSo far, I’ve seen only two reviews, but they say nice things and refer you to KC Carlson’s piece at Comics Worth Reading and Groucho at Groucho Reviews.Should you pick up a copy, do let me know what you think.
I’ve already pre-ordered my copy and should get it on Friday, so I’ll let you know what I think shortly thereafter! I’m excited to get it!

Hello: I am a prof at the Department of Popular Culture at Bowling Green State University (www.bgsu.edu). Our campus is also home to the Browne Popular Culture Library, which holds more than 100,000 comics in the archive. If I or anyone else here can be of help to you in the future please let me know. I have taught comics in the classroom as contemporary literature. We are planning an academic conference on comics this fall as well. I just got your book today and am enjoying it very much.
