We are live in all formats!
I had hoped to have Thrilling Adventure Yarns 2021 out for Farpoint, back when I was really wishing the con was in person. Covid-19 knocked those plans out of contention and then one of my writers was late, I mean really late, with the story. Since I had used their name in the campaign, I felt obligated to wait, even if it meant being late.
Thankfully, the story was good and clean and the art for it followed within days. Then it was a matter of formatting and proofreading. Even so, the virtual Farpoint came and went, so I rescheduled the release to the more manageable March 16.
Crazy 8 Press then sent the book to the printer and in an amazing display of technology, the softcover was printed, shipped, and delivered within a week of the print order going in. The hardcover, naturally, took longer, and those copies arrived on April 1, no foolin’.
Backers were promised three autographs minimum so I need to gather with my other Maryland-based scribes and have a socially distanced signing. Then comes the packing, labeling, and shipping, so the book will be arriving nearly two months late, which really pains me since I’ve spent my adult career priding myself for being dependably on time.
My backers have been most gracious in waiting and I do believe they will be pleased when they receive the book. Digital copies went out the other day so I eagerly await the first non-biased opinions.
As the second volume was coming together, I began thinking about the third. I haven’t made a formal decision as yet. I know my contributors would like it to happen, but it takes a lot of time and I would need more backers next time out. We’ll see once sales and feedback start to come in.
