17 Years

With each passing year, I struggle to find something new to say about losing Robbie. Yet, I can’t stop myself. Maybe when we get to the 20th, but I can’t let the 17th anniversary of his passing go unremarked.

I watch as those named in his honor grow and thrive.

At Shore Leave, the con co-chair told me the man running the Robbie Greenberger Memorial Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament wanted to meet me. He had been running the program for three years, and I was delighted to shake his hand. This year, over $1300 has been raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, while the top winner received a month of free lessons from experts. This year’s winner: actor J. Lee from The Orville.

As legacies go, that’s certainly not a bad one.
