My Media Round-up

Posted on

Over the course of any year, I find myself interviewed for various projects or just my career. Of late, thanks to a certain feature film, I have been busier than usual. I am happy to pormote projects, it’s part of the deal when you write something. And given how often peopel have made themsevles available to me for various pieces, I always try and return the favor.

In early July, Michael Parkes interviewed me for a brief overview of my career.

In anticipation of Superman, I chatted with The Ringer about the character and its legacy, which got picked up and included in an overview of the idiotic Right Wing crying about the Man of Steel suddenly becoming Woke.

My Superman: The Definitive History co-author Ed Gross and I spoke at length with Vanity Fair’s Anthony Breznican about the character and the controversy that led to one of my favorite pieces about the affair.

Thankfully, I wasn’t asked about the controversy when NPR’s Los Angeles-based Air Talk asked me to discuss the movie. I got the request while I was in Arizona at the Yearbook training, so I had to excuse myself from a session to chat for 20 minutes.

Most recently, Ed Gross and I spoke with Collider about the character and his legacy. Interesting how a fun 30-minute conversation became a few quotes.

Coming next is a round table discussion on the film for Forces of Geek; look for that in August. I last spoke with them four years ago as we acknowleded Star Trek‘s 55th anniversary. No doubt, there will be more about that topic next year.

Meanwhile, Shore Leave posted my moderated discussion with J. Lee and Adrienne Palicki about their time aboard The Orville which I present for those interested.

I also recorded a podcast with fellow writer Ed Catto about our essays in Becky Books’ recent Jack of all Comics which I am told will air in November. So, no doubt there will be more to come.
